Q:
Can I use My Favorite Editor by default?

My Favorite Editor

Many features of ETS2K refer to standard ASCII files for support and parameters, such as PinList, CaeLink, AutoTest, and other log files. You can specify which editor is used to open these file from within ETS2K by a command in the Special Scripts file, SpScript.txt, located in C:\ETSusb.  The command line to locate is:

; MyFavoriteEditor uedit32.exe ; Full path to editor recommended. Replace path spaces with *.

To enable the feature, remove the leading semi-colon (;).

Next, define the full path for the desired executable. Be sure to replace any spaces in the path with “*” in your command line. If you are setting this up on a computer received from HiLevel, the powerful Ultra-Edit file editor will have already been installed.  The default path for UltraEdit is:

C:\Program Files\IDM Computer Solutions\UltraEdit-32\udeit32.exe

Your modified command line for the SpScript file needs to look like this:

MyFavoriteEditor C:\Program*Files\IDM*Computer*Solutions\UltraEdit-32\uedit32.exe

Save the SpScript.txt file and restart ETS2K for the change to take effect. If you do not define an editor, or if the path is incorrect, ETS2K gives an error message and defaults to Notepad.
